This is a blog, written in Dutch, about my roadtrip to Mali - West Africa - in 2008. A journal, videos and pictures show a trip of 4 people, who didn’t really know eachother, driving through Europe and a big part of West Africa.
I'm Daniel Maissan, a freelance photographer, exploring the transition from a DSLR camera to a Leica M9 viewfinder. I like the way the M9 challenges me to master photography again, without zoom, auto focus, program modes etc etc. Back to basic with only a 35 mm sumicron f2.0 and a 75 mm summicron f2.0 lens rediscovering my craftsmanship.
